Greetings to family and friends of Love For His People.
Old dogs can be taught new tricks. And we become all the more wiser when we do.
Check out my latest message. It will encourage you too as it did me.
Ahava and shalom,

Jesus Restores & Refreshes Us
“He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.” Psalm 23:3, NASU
I must admit. It has only taken me about 43 years (out of 45) to really listen, as in “hear”, my good wife on some occasions. I mean, to really hear what she is saying as she shares things with me that the Lord gives her. Thank God! I finally get it! What a blessed man and husband that I am, to have finally realized it.
(My encouragement to men today: listen to your wife, your helpmate. She has been given to you by the Lord to help you!)
When she told me she had listened to Phil Driscoll on YouTube, as he spoke with Joni Lamb and friends (see the episode here: The Warfare of Worship: Phil Driscoll Unveils a Revelation That Changed Everything | Full Episode), it took me two days to get to it. And then I almost missed it as I don’t check Messenger that much, and that is where she had posted it to me.
I watched. I listened. I got inspired.
Knowing of Phil and his raspy singing, plus the awesome worshipping trumpet music, especially when he played the shofar back in the last century, hearing of his imprisonment at some point, and now seeing him restored and once again touching hearts and souls, it was great. Thank You, Jesus. You restore.
Jesus does restore us. Phil, Jim, you, and me, and others who seek Him. We all need restoration at times. Even after getting saved, baptized in the Holy Spirit, and walking in faith for many years, if not decades, we need restoration and refreshing.
It is a tough world. You know it. And our souls get beaten down, stressed out, and often need the refreshing that escapes many who do not call on the Name of the Lord, and those of us who do.
Before I went back to Israel in April 2022, after 2.5 years of wasteful global-wide lockdowns and controlling governments, all done of course in “the name of science”, I too was struggling at times. Let’s face it, the enemy of our souls tries very hard, and many times succeeds, to get us to stop doing what we know to do, to keep us weary, to get us focused on anything but the Lord, while at the same time wanting to kill and destroy us. We are not unaware of his onslaught. But we do forget at times, and fall into despair, hopelessness, and lack of much faith when we do.
So too with me. I so desperately wanted to get back to the Land and see my friends and walk in that which the Lord had called us to through Love For His People ministries, as we support Messianic Jews and others we have befriended through Him.
When finally, after six trips had been canceled or postponed with flights over that time period by the airlines, and the Israeli government finally opening the door to the unvaccinated, the skies were opened, and I was on that plane in no time. April 2, 2022, to be exact, and I was up and away!
When I stepped through the Central Bus/Train Station in Jerusalem, onto Jaffa Street in Jerusalem, Israel, after the quick 22-minute train ride from Ben Gurion Airport and up the massive four escalators to the city’s ground level, it seemed as if I had been there only two weeks prior. It was so refreshing. And restoring.
One of the four escalators you ride up from the train track level to Jerusalem street level.

Whenever I go to Israel (24 times now in the last three and counting decades), my “batteries are recharged” as Mahesh Chavda (of Chavda Ministries and All Nations Church here now in Fort Mill, SC) liked to say back in the 1990s.
Walking in your calling, while persevering and pressing through all the roadblocks, hassles, and waiting periods that come our way almost continually, will bring the restoration and refreshing that our souls need on a regular basis.
We need refilling. We need recharging. We need God all the time.
Jesus restores our souls. It is not just a psalm or Scripture verse for when we are born or when we die. It is a daily need for each of us.
I pray restoration and refreshing do come your way this day.
“Just as lotions and fragrance give sensual delight, a sweet friendship refreshes the soul.” Proverbs 27:9, THE MESSAGE May the Lord be the One to do just that.

P.S. Our next trip back in the Land is Sept. 2022 for our 45th wedding anniversary. And then May 2023 with several others, and hopefully back again for three months of volunteer service in the fall/early winter 2023.

Message #72 – in the year of our Lord 05.03.2022 – “Jesus Restores and Refreshes Us” – Tuesday, 8:30 am in Charlotte, NC USA
Trust Me Still. Your Faith in God.
by Steve Martin (Published 2021)
During the years 1960-1974 my family, with parents Louis and Lila Martin, and my siblings, Sue, Mary, Tom, Colleen, Janet, Lynn and Rob, lived at 1116 Main Street in Cedar Falls, Iowa. That home is pictured on the front cover of this book, and of this date still stands.
It was in that home that we grew in knowledge and truth to trust in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. With the input given to all of us through our parents, be it during the good and the bad times, a good foundation was laid for our spiritual, social, and natural lives.
I decided to feature that house on the cover because I want to acknowledge that the Lord decides where we live, and move, and exist.
“… and He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation, 27 that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us;” Acts 17: 26-27, NASB
Since those years have come and gone, my faith in Him has grown, been tested, and still stands strong, continuing to trust in Him day in and day out.
I hope these following chapters encourage you in your walk of faith. And at the end of your days, you will be known as one who has stood strong, still trusting in the Living God. He alone is the One Who can take you to the end, and who constantly watches over Israel and all believers in Him. He is the One too Who is coming back soon again.
